Title tags and meta descriptions are important elements of your website’s content. The title tag and the meta description tags should include keywords relevant to the content of the web page they describe. This helps Search Engines understand what the page is about and index your web pages accordingly for relevant keywords or keyword phrases. It’s important to keep in mind that if search engine traffic is your only goal, your results will probably suffer. Local SEO is all about promoting your site at the exact moment potential customers are looking for your type of product, and in your area. It’s about appearing in the main search results or within the map listings when your audience uses a local search term, such as plumber in Manchester, or when a search engine can tell their location. It is widely understood in the industry that search engine optimization should be built in, as early as possible, to the entire site development strategy, from choosing a content management system (CMS) and planning site architecture to developing on-page content.
Dominate your own little niche first
Always research before you buy any SEO software because the search engine Algorithms are constantly changing thereby improving their search technologies to provide the most relevant results for their users. SEO tools for Google, MSN and Yahoo are numerous. An SEO factor is
something that influences where a website or piece of content will rank in search engines. No single SEO factor will produce top search engine rankings. It is the combination of research, planning, and optimization within the website and outside of the website that produces results Google has given significant backing to its Accelerated Mobile Pages initiative too, and the evidence so far suggests it is paying off. When it comes to choosing keywords, it’s important that they are not too specific or too broad.
SEO is one of the last expenses companies cut
At its core, SEO is about user intent. Search engines, like Google, want to provide users with results that are relevant to their queries and offer the utmost value. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the best and most relevant pages are given higher positions on a search engine results page. You can also build
a reasonable idea of how many links you need, and how authoritative, in order to compete. To check out your competitors’ links, you can search for their most popular URLs with the link: command in Google. If you want to go further, use one of the many backlink tools to search for the most influential links – a good starting point is Open Link Profiler which gives you a lot of data for free. Make sure that your website is structured in a way that is friendly to search engines. If it’s tough for a search engine to crawl your site and index everything properly, you won’t get the SEO love that you deserve. Of all the channels we’ll be discussing, SEO is the one that there is the most misinformation about. Some of it is subtle, but some of it is widely spread and believed by so-called SEO consultants who actually don’t know what they’re doing.
Integrate your Most Popular Phrases into All Page Titles
Through its Panda, Penguin, and Hummingbird updates, Google’s making it even harder for site owners and bloggers to get quality incoming links. The goal of SEO is not to generate traffic but, rather, to generate sales leads and e-commerce revenue. To help your content attract as many social signals as possible, make sure you have sharing buttons for the major networks close to your content. People are lazy, and if they have to hunt for ways to share the content they may not bother. Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant
, commented: "Take a few minutes to jot down some word combinations that website visitors might use to find you. Once you’ve got a healthy list of keyword options, it’s time to see if people
are searching for them. A solid place to start is Google’s free Keyword Planner, which helps you research keyword ideas and estimate how well they’ll perform in search results. "
Stay Focused on the Long-Term
In the same way that it takes time to improve your SEO rankings with improvements built up over time, the reverse is true for when you stop optimising your website. At first, your rankings will continue as before but over time you’ll notice that your website rankings will start to drop. Algorithm updates, competitor improvements and loss of links will all negatively impact on your rankings and put you back to square one. Whether or not a
specific page ranks for a particular keyword depends largely on the quality of that individual page (content, user experience, number and quality of the backlinks, page load speed etc), and not the quality of your website as a whole. Google prefers sites that are easy to navigate.
This means having solid navigation in your top
menu and other places on your site (like your
sidebar and footer). It also allows Google to easily
find related pages on your site. Linking out is huge. Don't be a link hoard; you're going to create content, so use it to gain favor with other people. I'll go more into depth below with specific tactics on linking out, but in general, you only have something to gain when you’re linking out.
