Starting a mobile strategy will take time and work, but the payoff is worth it as more people will continue to search and browse the web on their mobile devices. For your pages to become searchable and indexable by the crawlers / search engine bots, they need some linking love first (bots follow links to find new content). Search engines find it harder to find and include pages in their results that aren’t linked to either internally (from other pages of the same website) or externally (from other websites). Finding a good balance between the various “free” forms of building Back Links and the Pay Per Click advertising many people are using today is key to getting your Back Links covered. Inbound links pointing from other websites to your website are critical to establish the credibility of your business in Google’s eyes.
Relevance, not quality
Search engines were nothing new; the first one was Archie created back in 1990, and there had been more than a few created between then & when Google launched (most notably Yahoo!) Ensure that your
site loads quickly, not just where you're located, but from around the world. Every piece of content should have the user in mind. This also applies to SEO. You can’t create your next piece of content, or carry out keyword research, without knowing your audience. One task the search engines face is judging the value of content. Although evaluating how the community responds to a piece of content using link analysis is part of the process, the search engines can also draw some conclusions based on what they see on the page.
Invest in a third-party monitoring service
The Internet is all about trends — what works phenomenally well to improve SEO one year, might fall flat the next. SEO isn’t a one-and-done type deal. It requires constant updating, tweaking, experimenting and testing. And with SEO being one of the highest returning investments you’ll make for your website, you’ll want to constantly measure its success to maintain powerful results.
At the end
of the day, Google makes decisions based on the number of links pointing to your pages and the circumstances surrounding such links. SEO is not just one technique, if you focus on just one thing you will not get the full benefits of SEO and you risk losing everything if Google change their algorithm again. Nothing is worse than arriving to a site and finding content with keywords strategically (and awkwardly) positioned throughout.
How do your SEO and content marketing efforts complement each other?
Developers who aren’t already focused on SEO requirements aren’t necessarily keeping up with these changes, which will present a challenge to brands and open up additional opportunities for developers with updated SEO knowledge and skills. It's no surprise that the Internet contains massive amounts of spam. Some estimate as much as 60% of the web's pages are spam. Less than 10% of the users in the most active internet countries have
broadband. The faster your website loads, the better rank your site will have on
Google and other major search engines. Local hosting will also typically help
reduce page load speeds, so this is another benefit of setting up local servers. According to
SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Currently more than half of searches account for mobile devices."
Closing the Loop
The SEO benefits of social media, in my opinion, should be seen as the by-product of a strong social media strategy, not the core objective. In turn, SEO’s need to understand the wider role social media plays in connecting with an audience at each stage of the buying journey. Most of your
link authority is on your homepage, right? So, it makes sense that the more clicks away from your homepage a product page gets, the less authority it has. Getting third parties to link their websites to yours is a critical part of SEO. Without inbound links, there is little to no chance of ranking for competitive terms in search engines such as Google, whose algorithm relies heavily on link measuring and weighting criteria. Google regularly refreshes its
search engine algorithms. These
are called “Google updates.”
These updates improve search
results by gradually optimizing the
specifications for website quality
and relevance. At the same time,
they counter web spam.
