Instead of writing on-page copy for the sole purpose of repeating a
keyword multiple times, you should write about your product or service
or idea naturally, and let your keyword variations naturally fall into place.
If that doesn’t happen, go back and spring in some variations into the
content so that the same message gets across, just optimized! To offer the best possible results, search engines must attempt to discover all the public pages on the World Wide Web and then present the ones that best match up with the user’s search query. There’s no need to obsess over SEO throughout the whole content creation process, but getting into the SEO mindset can offer useful insights into how to make your content more effective from now on. Reaching an international audience is an opportunity that is now available to small and medium businesses in a way that has never been possible historically.
SEO is a clean, lean, marketing machine
From an SEO perspective, I never treat a piece of content as ‘complete’. There is always room for improvement with updates, additional information, and various other things that can make it more useful to visitors. The biggest challenge
with SEO is that it’s ambiguous territory—but you shouldn’t let the uncertainty get the best of you. Understand that almost every marketer is exactly where you are now. Everyone’s trying to figure out SEO’s ‘hidden secrets’ with little direction. Try to ensure the key phrase is an exact match to what the searcher will type into a search engine. Natural language in search is becoming more prevalent, especially with the rise in voice search and Google’s understanding of natural language queries. The key to success is balancing risk with reward and keeping a close eye on your budget. You need to KNOW how much risk you're willing to take on and how much money it'll take to get results.
Technology Choices
As Google has become quicker in catching webmasters who use unethical SEO practices and has implemented harsher punishments for offenders (lower rankings or banning of websites, etc.). Some companies desperate for improved search rankings have found ways to hack into the websites of competitors and implement some nasty strategies on those sites. When creating an
asset, it’s important to understand which part of the user journey you’re trying to target. Are you trying to inform and drive familiarity of your business, drive a single purchase, build loyalty, or simply become part of the consideration set? Funnel value can play an important role in not only defining the topic, but also defining the type of asset that would work best to accomplish your goal. Just by increasing your search ranking and where your website places on Google doesn’t mean you’re going to get all of a sudden get that flood of traffic that you want. SEO and content marketing are two different processes. You could describe the main difference like this: SEO is narrow and technical, while content marketing is broad and holistic.
Optimization ensures the Website publishes unique, valuable content
By starting a blog — or taking an existing blog up a notch — you can increase your influence and establish stronger relationships with potential and current customers. Contrary to popular belief, social media doesn't have a direct relationship with your search rankings. However, it can have an indirect bearing on the success of your SEO campaign. Search engine do not give you links that are counted to your link popularity. You need to write content that others want to link to. And in my opinion, if you are not passionate about what you are writing, then it will be hard to get links pointing to your content. According to
SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "By now, you should be convinced that you want to be on the top of the SERPs. It never hurts to be #1 in the natural search results"
Identify (and include) commonly searched keywords
Make sure you spend time optimizing the content on your website. Good website content is easy to read by visitors and consistent when compared against both the title and tags listed with the story. Otherwise, search engines may rank your content poorly, making it more difficult for you to find a following. SEO isn’t something
you learn overnight. If you want to perform your own
SEO, you need to educate yourself. I’ve spent almost fifteen years
learning about SEO and I’m thankful I did because I feel each hour of
learning has paid itself back over and over again. Crafting quality titles for product pages, articles, blog posts, lists and all other written content is what gets that content noticed by search engines. It might not make sense at first, but long and ugly titles containing lots of descriptive information are actually the best types of titles around. As businesses succeed, new avenues of revenue open up and therefore new areas of the website need to be created and optimised.
