SEO for reputation management is a process for neutralizing negative mentions of your name in the SERPs. In this type of SEO project, you would strive to occupy additional spots in the top 10 results to push the critical listing lower, and hopefully off the first page. Buying backlinks can and does work, however, there’s a substantial risk involved if you buy low quality ones and/or from people who openly sell them. If their website gets penalised, you’re in trouble too. Links from a diverse range of websites is good, many links from a single domain to your site (especially if it’s one of the very sites linking to you) can be seen as spammy. At the same time, you also need to consider something called ‘LSI’ or ‘Latent Semantic Indexing’. This is basically a fancy term that explains how Google now understands actual meaning rather than just looking to match words. The way it does this is at least partly by looking for synonyms and related terms when trying to answer questions. In short, don’t just use the exact keyphrase but be sure to use lots of relevant and related language.
The most time consuming aspect is writing content
A great way to up your SEO in a general sense is to regularly update your site with quality long-form content. This could be in the form of a video, a podcast, or more commonly, a blog. While your company
may have a budget too small to implement a broad range of SEO services and strategies, investing in one or two things is a great start. It is certainly better than not investing at all in internet marketing. Producing low-quality content as fast as you can and sending it out en masse to as many article submission sites as possible has been looked down upon for some time. The user’s keywords are typically shown in boldface when they appear in the search results (sometimes close synonyms are shown in boldface as well).
Attaining a list of keywords is easier than knowing what to do with them
It’s better to have a custom 404 error code page than to have an empty page — it doesn’t send a good message to search engines or site visitors. The rise of
social media on the Web has created a host of new signals that search engines can consider. Website owners all want their content to be placed at the top of page one of search results. This is because very few website searches ever go beyond page one of results. Every website has a robots.txt; this gives robots/crawlers/spiders a bunch of rules to follow, such as where they can/can’t crawl, and the pages they can/can’t index. You can check whether a URL is blocked by robots.txt with Google’s Robots Testing Tool.
Sprinkle LSI keywords liberally
Spam links often go both ways. A website that links to spam is likely spam itself, and in turn often has many spam sites linking back to it. Take a look at your top ranking and
most shared content. Is there overlap? If you’ve found a type of
content that is simultaneously strong in search and frequently shared,
it’s worth optimizing that content even further. Press releases are some of the least-appreciated backlink tactics out there. Fortunately, you don’t need a Madison Avenue PR firm to reap the rewards from press releases. As long as you have something going on at your business (and why wouldn’t you?), you can easily spin that into a new press release. We asked an
SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Make sure that your web page URLs are SEO friendly, use mod re-write for Linux and Apahche hosting or use IIS redirect for Windows. Ideally make it so that the URLs describe your content."
Make basic duplicate listing detection
Learning search engine optimization can be overwhelming at first. There is a lot to wrap your mind around. But becoming proficient in SEO is definitely an achievable undertaking. Adjusting your keyword
distribution gives you power to change your campaign over time. Many beginner bloggers and webmasters think that they need to churn out lots of content on a regular basis. But the truth is that quality will always trump quantity. If you are really interested in improving your SEO, a strategy needs to be formulated. An SEO expert will need to identify the services or products that drive the most revenue for your business so he can deploy an SEO strategy based on your actual business model.
